Your contribution today makes a huge positive impact by providing direct support for us to continue to bring writing programs and literacy development for men, women and children who are incarcerated, detained and formerly incarcerated.

Literacy is key to education, and education is key to success. When youth are arrested and spend time in jail, their educations are interrupted. Developing reading and writing skills supports participants in achieving their educational and career goals and reduces recidivism.
We depend on your contributions! As an organization that is in the process of developing our funding sources, courting foundations, applying for grants, and recruiting board members, we are committed to continue to bring our workshops to our participants in our partnering organizations.
Currently we are working with a group of women in a re-entry program at Taconic Correctional Facility, youth in BronxConnects Alternative to Incarceration Program, young people being held in detention in group homes through Administration for Children's Services 'Close to Home', and young women at the Brooklyn DA's Office of Re-entry.
